About
The National Cancer Center Japan (founded 1962; Tsukiji campus in Tokyo and Kashiwa campus in Chiba) operates three ethics review bodies: a Research Ethics Review Committee (研究倫理審査委員会) for human medical research, a Contract Research / Clinical Trial Review Committee (治験審査委員会) for externally commissioned and collaborative research, and Clinical Research Review Committees (臨床研究審査委員会) at both the Central and East Hospitals under Japan's Clinical Trials Act. The Central Hospital committee is certified by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare under Article 23 of the Clinical Trials Act (certification no. CRB3180008, certified 30 March 2018), operating in English as the National Cancer Center Hospital Certified Review Board. It accepts review requests from inside and outside the Center, with published new-application fees of ¥1,000,000 for external institutions and ¥500,000 internally.
